Gary's Quality Foods has been serving customers in the Wallace, Michigan, location for over 35 years. The store was originally built in 1970 and was owned by Roy Johnson. In 1976, Gary and Dorothy Peretto purchased the Wallace store and it became Gary's IGA. The Wallace store has undergone 5 remodeling projects. In 1998, Gary purchased the grocery store in Stephenson, Michigan, (Monette's IGA) and began offering grocery items in both locations under the new name, Gary's Quality Foods.
In 2001, Jeff Peretto purchased the Wallace store from his dad, Gary. In 2002, Jeff expanded the store's service offerings by building a venison processing plant next to the original store location in Wallace. Sharon, Jeff's wife, runs the bakery department at the Wallace store. They have two children, Alyssa and Morgan. Jeff's brother, Dave, runs the venison processing plant and his sister Wendy is the store manager.
In 2007, Gary's daughter, Debbie, purchased the Stephenson store, which has undergone 1 large remodeling project since it was purchased from Monette's. Debbie's husband, Jeff, also works at the Stephenson store. They have two children, Cassandra and Katrina.
In addition to providing quality meat, dairy, fresh produce and grocery items, Gary's Quality Foods has been expanding its service offerings to local customers by creating a new bakery department, offering movie rentals, photo processing, and lottery tickets and providing quality home-made sausage and beefsticks - a local favorite!
Gary's provides weekly specials on a wide variety of grocery items. Our website is updated weekly with all of the current sale offerings. In addition, we advertise our weekly specials in the Eagle-Herald and the Menominee County Journal and the MCJ Extra.
